As I reflect on the approaching eve of my 21st anniversary in real estate, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude toward all of you – my tribe. Your unwavering support and generosity has been the driving force behind my success. To express my appreciation, I’ve embarked on various give back initiatives over the years including; The Ottawa Food Bank, The Ottawa Humane Society, The Snowsuit Fund of Ottawa, Youth Services Bureau, and a few others, hoping that these small gestures convey the depth of my gratitude.
Amidst this gratitude, I’ve also become acutely aware of the ever-changing landscape of the real estate industry. Some aspects remain constant, while others undergo continual transformation. I vividly remember the days of pagers, fax machines, and hand-delivering offers to fellow agents. Now, we rely on smartphones, electronic signatures, and immersive virtual property tours – all geared towards efficiency.
However, within this digital revolution, there’s a subtle but profound shift in how we connect. Gone are the days of traditional word-of-mouth recommendations shared among family and friends. Today, “Google” has become the new word of mouth, with people often valuing the opinions of complete strangers in online reviews over those of their neighbours and friends. It’s a testament to the immense power that technology wields over our lives.
